Once you have learned what Photoshop can do for you it is hard to imagine using anything else, and perhaps yet still harder to stop using it when your 30-day trial is up. But as great of a tool as Photoshop is, the several hundred dollar price tag makes it hard for smaller organizations to legally use. If you do have a license cheaper through tech soup, the number of copies you can get is limited. These limitations mean that youth organizations can not very easily use their limited licenses to teach the young people they work with this valuble and fun piece of software.
Splashup.com has a solution. Splashup is a free web-based application that duplicates the most often used Photoshop tools. You can use layers, shapes, filters an more of the core Photoshop functions. One very cool feature is that you can import photos from a variety of online services like Facebook,Flickr, Photobucket,Picassa orSmugmug. You can also import photos from your desktop or any url. When you then go to save your work you can put on the same group of services.

Or you can just save it to your desktop. The site is new and there are at least a few bugs, but it goes along way to making all of the cool features of Photoshop available in a free internet based service.
We like splashup a lot let us know what you think.
